Sanctioned by the Academy to explore the Vale and research the magics present there the Awa Tem make an impressive and imposing sight as they stride through the portal, pointy hats high and their non-magical (or lowly wizard) staff scurrying around the vitally important mages. Anyone may be accepted into the Awa Tem if they have magical talent, or found a place in their expeditionary force if they can keep the (occasionally reckless) researchers alive long enough to report findings back. "For the pursuit of knowledge!"
