Abomination Information
  • Abominations

Orcs are not the largest examples of their culture. The orc shaman of the Mountain Kinbands are always trying to breed orcs that are stronger and more powerful. Each year babes are birthed with unusual characteristics as a result of these efforts. While many of these die within weeks, some survive and the shaman proudly call these survivors Abominations.

The characteristics that enable the survivors to make it seem to vary depending upon many unknown factors kept secret by the Kinband shaman and vary a great deal in appearance. They are all larger and more bulky than regular orcs and the one thing that seems to make them able to survive appears to be an unnatural degree of resistance to injury. Their bodies are able to deal with the damage that their huge muscles cause as they rip and wrench at their frames.

Abominations go by many names based on similarities in appearance: Ogres are the largest and the most powerful; Trolls are larger than orcs, although not as large as ogres; Wendigo are huge and covered in fur with massive claws; Grell are hairless subterranean predators. There are many more species however, the above being the most common.

They are frequently used as shock troops by the orc warlords where their strength and natural abilities make them effective as battering rams to smash enemy lines. While they are respected and feared in equal measure for their massive size and incredible toughness, they are not mentally gifted. Abominations are not stupid, the problem is rather one of memory and learning. Essentially, they lack the capacity to learn and develop their skills and abilities. This has tragic consequences for the cultural development of these creatures, being unable to develop their own separate cultural identities. Abominations live as minority members of orc society.

Abominations have abilities based upon their specific appearance but are hard to kill. They do not have the capacity to develop new abilities over time like their orc and goblin kin.
